Our Story

After becoming a mom while living in Hawaii, designer Rebecca Waldron wanted to get out and enjoy the beauty of Oahu with her family. She found that she needed a good bag for their adventures, but could not find the right one! She bought all kinds of bags, some with all the features and some with great style, but none of them had both.

She wanted a minimalistic diaper bag that could convert from messenger style to backpack and have enough pockets to organize all of her baby things. She also wanted something gender-neutral that her husband would like carrying. On top of that, at the time she didn’t realize that Postpartum Depression and Anxiety were holding her back from feeling confident venturing out with her new baby. 

Luckily, she had a degree in fashion design and years of creative experience in the surf industry working for brands like O’Neill and Hurley. Armed with an entrepreneurial spirit and her design background, she set to work to create the perfect bag for every parent. After many revisions, Bodomint finally launched on Kickstarter in 2014 and was successfully funded within the first week of launch! With a huge thanks to every generous backer, Rebecca's dream for Bodomint came to life.

Having a place for everything in her bag helped ease her postpartum anxieties. She felt confident she could resolve any of her baby's needs while away from home. The outdoors, time spent with family, and a beautiful bag that reflected her style were good medicine for her soul. She hopes Bodomint will help other parents to find the same.

Since 2014 there have been design tweaks and upgrades to the Original Bag, as well as the addition of the new Vegan Leather Bag. Rebecca now has three boys and resides with her family in Costa Mesa, CA. She spends her days wrangling three wild boys, while also running Bodomint from her home.

She is an advocate for mental health and Postpartum Depression and Anxiety awareness. A portion of every order on Bodomint.com is donated to Postpartum Support International.
